When to seek help for insomnia

Who we treat here

You may lie awake for a long time, wake during the night or wake too early. Changing shifts and early start times can make these problems harder to manage. CBT-I can be adjusted to the work schedule you actually have.

Sleep apnea and insomnia often occur together. We treat the insomnia, we have partners who treat the apnea, and our clinician coordinates any referral that is needed. Some clinicians also treat anxiety, low mood and stress. Their profiles list their areas of focus.

Insurance we accept in Texas

We are in network with the plans below, and we will check your benefits before your first session:

  • Aetna
  • Blue Cross Blue Shield
  • Blue Cross Blue Shield (HMO plans)
  • Blue Cross Blue Shield Medicare Advantage
  • Cigna / Evernorth
  • Medicare
  • UnitedHealthcare / Optum
  • UnitedHealthcare Medicare Advantage

If your plan is not listed, ask us to check it. Self-pay is also available.

Your first visit

The first appointment lasts about fifty minutes. Your clinician asks about your nights, your daytime symptoms and what you have already tried. If CBT-I is a good fit, you begin a two-minute morning sleep diary. Your clinician uses it to choose a consistent bedtime and wake time, called a sleep window. Treatment usually lasts six to eight weekly sessions. Many patients notice progress in the first few weeks. The full process is on How It Works.

You must be physically in Texas during each visit. We also serve Dallas, Austin and the rest of Texas. A limited number of clinicians also see patients at 8990 Kirby Drive, Houston, TX 77054. Call (281) 766 3602. We confirm availability when you book.

Houston questions, answered

Do I have to come to the Kirby Drive office for treatment?

No. Most Houston patients meet their clinician by video. A limited number of clinicians also see patients in person. Tell us which option you prefer when you book, and we will confirm what is available.

Do I need a Houston sleep study before insomnia treatment?

Not for insomnia. A sleep study is an overnight test used to look for breathing or movement problems. Sleep apnea and insomnia often occur together. We treat the insomnia, we have partners who treat the apnea, and our clinician coordinates any referral that is needed.

Can a Houston patient see a clinician who is based in Dallas or Austin?

Yes. Every clinician on our team is licensed to treat patients anywhere in Texas. You can choose any clinician who has an opening. If location matters to you, tell us when you book.
